Do I need to clean up or organize the house before you arrive?
Not at all! In fact, we prefer that you don't. We are experts at sorting and organizing. "The mess" doesn't scare us—it’s where we find the treasures!
What should I donate or throw away before the estate sale?
You don’t need to do a thing. Take what you’d like to keep (personal items, papers, photos), and leave the rest to us—we handle everything from there.
We thoughtfully sort and identify what can be sold, donated, or discarded. You might be surprised at what holds value—many homeowners unknowingly throw away items that could be sold.
My family member is/was a hoarder. Can you work with us?
Absolutely! We see hoarding situations quite often in our business. It's no big deal to us and it shouldn't be to you, either. Just leave everything and we will take care of it.
How do you determine the pricing for my items?
We combine 20 years of experience with real-time market data. For high-end luxury items, jewelry, or rare antiques, we use specialized databases to ensure you get the current fair market value.
What happens to the items that don’t sell?
After the sale, we coordinate the donation of remaining items to local charities and/or arrange for a total cleanout, leaving the home "broom clean" for a realtor or closing.
What is your commission rate?
The House of Gigi retains 50% of all sales to cover staffing and professional marketing—ensuring your items are presented beautifully and sold for the best possible return.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, we are fully licensed and insured, providing you with peace of mind while our team is working in your home.
Consignment FAQ
Where are you located?
We are located in Lewes, Delaware and work with consignors in Sussex County, Delaware. We also love working with consignors who are willing to travel, meet in the middle, or ship items to us.
What types of items do you sell on consignment?
We specialize in women's and men's designer + luxury items, clothing, shoes, handbags, accessories, jewelry (includes Sterling and 10K/14K/18K scraps).
We also sell some home decor, vintage and modern collectibles, toys, and furniture.
Are there brands you don't sell?
Yes—our focus is on upscale, designer, and luxury items.
We curate pieces that reflect quality, craftsmanship, and higher-end appeal.
As a result, we typically do not accept items from big-box or mall brands such as Target, Walmart, Kohl’s and some of the brands below:

How do you price your items?
We use our 20+ years of expertise to price our items based on the item's condition, age, and current value in the resale market (in the past 90 days).
Where do you sell your items?
We sell on eBay, Mercari, Facebook Marketplace, Poshmark, and in our online store.
How much do you pay your consignors?
We pay our consignors 50% of the item's final selling price. We retain 50% for our time/labor (to photograph, list, store, and mail the items) as well as to pay marketplace fees and shipping.
Can you pick up my items for consignment?
We can pick up a carload of consignment or a nominal pickup fee which will be estimated after a consultation.
Can you buy my items outright?
Yes! We have had clients who don't want to wait for their items to sell on consignment before getting paid. We are happy to offer a complete buy-out price estimate.
